How to use
The same four steps, with a little more detail.
-
01
Prepare
Cleanse, and leave skin slightly damp. Warm two to three pumps of Coconut Oil between the palms and press it onto the face rather than rubbing it in. The oil is what lets the tool move; without it the stone drags.
-
02
Release
Before lifting anything, soften what is holding. Rest the flat of the Gua Sha under the jaw and hold for a breath. Work down the sides of the neck three times, then along the base of the skull. Lymph drains downward, so clearing the neck first gives everything above it somewhere to go.
-
03
Sculpt
Keep the stone almost flat to the skin, around a fifteen degree angle, and use light to medium pressure. Jaw, cheek, brow — outward and up, three to five passes each. If the tool catches, add oil rather than pressure.
-
04
Return
Rest warm palms over the face for one slow breath. Rinse the Gua Sha, dry it, and put it somewhere you will see it tomorrow.
